RuneFest is an event celebrating all things RuneScape, packed with an exciting range of activities. This year’s RuneFest takes place on Saturday 28 August, in London, UK.


In a new twist to RuneScape’s previous machinima competitions, players can create videos based on two video themes and across three categories for the chance to win a coveted Golden Gnome Award. The two themes are ‘Short Story’ and ‘RuneScape Music Video’ (aka RSMV), and the three categories within each theme are ‘Machinima’, ‘Animation’ and ‘Live Action Video’.

RuneFest will include a range of events and activities, with more details to follow in the coming weeks. Crucially, we will be including Insider Sessions with the team behind RuneScape as an opportunity for the players and ourselves to get to know each other better.

Runefest Golden Gnomes

To celebrate the video making talent within the RuneScape community, Jagex will be holding the first Golden Gnome Awards, culminating in a live ceremony at RuneFest 2010.

In a new twist to RuneScape’s previous machinima competitions, players can create videos based on two video themes and across three categories for the chance to win a coveted Golden Gnome Award. No. Alcohol will be available at this event, for which proof of age will be required. Because of this, the event will only be suitable for our adult fans
